My Story
Cintia de Mita is an Indonesian director and choreographer who is passionate about telling thought and emotionally provoking stories through film, dance, and music.
She was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia and moved to Los Angeles in 2017 to pursue her career in the entertainment industry. Her start in filmmaking began in 8th grade (2013) when she was asked to write a short film script and a song for the film's soundtrack by her middle school drama teacher. A few years later, Cintia began to direct and choreograph dance videos with thought-provoking concepts, and after moving to Los Angeles in 2017, she found her way towards directing and choreographing professionally for music videos and narrative films. Outside of film production, Cintia teaches dance and beginner level film directing to kids and teens.
All her work are inspired by her life or observation of life around her, and her way of directing has naturally been enriched by her experience as a dancer, dance teacher, singer, actor, writer, editor, 1st AD, and other film crew positions on various productions. She acquired a BA in Film and Media from Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles, and is currently pursuing an MFA in Film, TV, and Photography.
Cintia de Mita also has articles written on Voyage LA, Shoutout LA, and GAP Magazine (now known as GASP) edition 3, 4, 5, and 6, where she shares about her journey.
"Live your life, and there... You'll find your art" is something Cintia strongly believes in. She is sure that her passion for her craft, as well as her life experiences, will always fuel her to keep striving and thriving on her way up in the film industry.
